Essential Spray Tan Maintenance Tips for your Custom Glow
To ensure the most seamless, long-lasting results from your Beach House Sunless Tanning session, please follow these essential preparation steps prior to your visit:
1. Exfoliate 24 Hours in Advance
Thoroughly exfoliate your skin the day before your appointment, paying extra attention to rougher spots like elbows, knees, and ankles. This creates a smooth canvas for the tan to adhere to and ensures a graceful fade.
2. Shave or Wax Early
Shaving should be done at least 24 hours before the appointment and waxing should be done at least 2 days before the appointment. When shaving, use a clean new razor and shave lightly to avoid irritation or nicks. This allows your pores to close and prevents skin sensitivity, ensuring the bronze color settles evenly without leaving tiny dark spots.
3. Skin Should Be Clean and Bare
On the day of your appointment, arrive with skin that is completely free of products. Avoid applying lotions, oils, perfumes, or deodorant, as these acts as barriers that can lead to streaks or discoloration. After your tan, wear loose, dark clothing and flip-flops so nothing rubs against the solution while it sets.
4. Avoid Harsh Soaps
Do not use harsh soaps like Dove or heavily scented products such as Bath & Body Works before your tan, as they can leave residue and affect how the color develops. Instead, we recommend using only unscented lotions and a light, gentle body wash to maintain the skin's natural balance.

Post-Tan Care and Spray Tan Maintenance Tips
To maintain your Beach House Sunless Tanning radiance and ensure an even fade, please adhere to these post-tan maintenance guidelines:
1. Let Your Tan Develop
Stay away from water, perspiration, or swimming for 2–8 hours, depending on which solution you chose, to permit the pigment to bond properly with your skin.
2. Take a Lukewarm Rinse First
Your initial rinse should be brief and temperate. Steer clear of high temperatures and lengthy soaking, using only your palms to rinse rather than abrasive sponges.
3. Pat Dry, Don’t Rub
Once finished rinsing, delicately dab your skin with a soft towel. Avoid any friction or rubbing to preserve the integrity of your bronze glow.
4. Use Gentle, Light Body Wash
Opt for a mild, clean body wash and bypass aggressive or fragrant formulas that might dissolve your tan prematurely. At your second shower, you can shower like normal again, using gentle products and avoiding harsh scrubbing.
5. Moisturize Daily with Unscented Lotion
Apply a fragrance-free, deeply nourishing moisturizer every morning and night to keep your skin hydrated and prevent the color from flaking.
6. Avoid Exfoliating Until You’re Ready to Re-Tan
Refrain from using chemical peels, gritty scrubs, or exfoliating mitts until you are prepared for your next application, as these will lift the pigment.
